Following an afternoon tea reception Leaders First members and their guests were presented with a unique global overview on female leadership, prepared specially for this event by Gabriella Cacciotti. Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship of Warwick Business school presented most recent data on the level of female entrepreneurial and leadership activity around the world and addressed the importance of this data for forming the future of female entrepreneurship.

The data showed also a high level of innovation by female entrepreneurs and looked at activities by regions and by industries. Discussing leadership opportunities around the world Gabriella concluded further that there has been good progress in closing the gender gap. However, she called for inclusion of family and work-life balance in the design and development of entrepreneurship ecosystem and more integration of women in AI talent pools.
The event continued with the first panel of speakers, female executives, who were introduced by a remarkable TV presenter Angela Antetomaso. First to share her career story was Joanne Czekalowska, EMEA Acquisitions Integration Director at IBM, who is also currently a mentor for other women and helping them on their way up. She shared some valuable advice on professional growth, as well as her personal examples of working with a boss who supported her journey.
